Daily Prompt: On The Road

I am surprised as I saw today’s Daily Prompt entitled on the road. Although its main objective is to show bloggers about “travel”, I still want to share this photo of mine taken from the streets of Baclaran, Manila, Philippines.

This might be a good literal cover photo for today’s theme, “On The Road”.

today’s daily prompt’s theme was printed on the wall along the streets of Baclaran, Manila. 😀

Daily Prompt: Clean House – THROWNed

Here in Saudi Arabia, you can see a lot of things like this things abandoned in an empty lot.

In life, oftentimes our place in society depends on what kind of chair we sat upon. In offices, the manager has a better kind of chair than a simple employee. Kings have their own kind too. Look around. You can see people’s society status by simply looking on what kind of chair they’re using.

In life, we don’t have to change ourselves, only get better. We need to improve but keep who we really are. So aim for a better and improved quality chair, but don’t change how you sit. It’s you. You’re unique.

Daily Prompt: Waiting – Quick Eyes and Finger

In Street Photography, there is an approach that is called background fixing where the photographer looks for a good background and wait for another element to pass by which in a way or another coherent to the background. In this approach, patience is a virtue. This is in accordance with the idea that in street photography each element should be related to other elements in the frame.

Here are two of my simple examples.

The line and contrast between the floor colors is good for geometry composition.

I found the word “viruz” related to the action of the dog.

Daily Prompt: Standstill – I Miss Home

I wish peace. I long for serenity.  I want calmness.  I need happiness.  I MISS HOME

atulayan island

Actually, time always stood still, every time I miss home. I’m working here in abroad while my family is in the Philippines. My wife is taking care of our first baby born child, now 12 days old.

Time stood still while I’m remembering each moment while we were together before I went abroad. Treasured moments of laughter and struggles. Things flashed back on my mind on how we become successful in overcoming trials together.

And if I could only tweak a thing, it would be being there for them even for a single moment to give them both a hug and a kiss.

I miss home.

If Only We Are Like Children

I found it fascinating to shoot children. There are always something inside that made me smile and recall my own childhood. If I have the chance, I would definitely want to re-experience such moments.

In this vast and complicated world, some lessons can’t be found in our day to day routine. We just need to observe and listen to the actions from these innocent children.

play

The freedom to seize the day and leave all worries behind.

children

The courage of taking risk and choosing to go the extra mile.

slides

The choice to share and co-exist freely.

penguin and child

To dream simply and find the true meaning of happiness.

trio

To race with friends not with competitors no matter you loose or win. It’s the experience of being alive counts.

childhood

To just enjoy life. Live if full and simple. Let the world smile for us for we will only be in this world for a limited time and there will be no other chance but now.

Let us take time to listen to children. They have better messages for us compared to what we are showing them.  If we could only be like them, then this world will be a better world to live in.

How about you? Do you ever miss your childhood? I bet you have a unique one, ‘coz if not, so sad it will not be fair enough.

Faith

I’ll make it simple for today’s daily prompt.

In every troubled times

the safest place for me is within my Lord’s embrace.

I am always welcome to Him with arms wide open.

And to make it sure it will remain open forever, He have His hands nailed.

The Non and the Common

Today’s Daily Prompt is quite challenging. It says,

“If you were forced to give up one sense, but gain super-sensitivity in another, which senses would you choose?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us SENSITIVE.”

Let me show you first a photo before I give my verdict. 🙂

laundry

Can you think of a reason why the short pants was not hang along with the others?

Do you have any idea why I took this shot?

Let me guess. Each one of you would have different answers in each question. There will be no common and universal answer to my questions. Well, the same thing with COMMON SENSE. The problem with it is that common sense is not always common. 🙂

To answer today’s daily prompt question, I would likely  have a lot of COMMON SENSE. It will matter a lot with regards to survival. By the way, whether someone is forced or not to give up one sense, who dares? Every sense is essential to life, no one would risk. So its NONSENSE to loose one. Well, that’s it, I would give up NONSENSE. 😀

What’s Inside?

a window

A close window. A wall with some drawings most probably drawn by a child. What’s inside? Why is it close?

For some readers and viewers, the photo speaks nothing. But for a few, it can be something.

Where There is Light, I’ll Be With You

Can you describe or identify  a thing or person exactly what it looks like by just looking at its shadow?

It’s difficult, right?  Maybe we can visualize or have a wild guess, but it is just what it is, a product of our imagination, but not the actual thing. Take a look at this.

shadow surrealism

Sometimes  we hide through our own shadow. We hide something that only ourselves know. Secrets, fears, shame, thoughts, desire etc. For what any reason? Only ourselves would know.

Sometimes our eyes fool us. It make us believe something that is not true.

shadow back 2

Plain white clothes or striped? Fakes roam around. They are everywhere. Our eyes are not enough to identify the real ones from the other.

Most of us wants to be original. There is only one way to do that. Don’t be like the common.

trio

If everyone is looking at life by the same boring perspective; If they are going the same way; same words and actions, then change yours in a better way.

Like footprints, we can leave a shadow in this world when our time is finish, our shadow inside the hearts and minds of those we left behind.

How would you like to be remembered? Pretender, Fake or Unique?

Love Birds

After a tiring long afternoon photowalk, me and my friend took a few minutes rest in a park. It was almost five o’clock when the birds in the trees began playing, flying from one tree to another. It got our attention. I quickly set my camera then started to take some random shots.

For the love of photography. I want to share how those birds love to be photographed too. 😀

Lovebirds

I can hear them shouting “surprise” as I look on my camera screen. What a lovely formation.

Later, Dear

The alarm rang. I was in deep sleep to hear it.

Few minutes later, it rang again. It almost didn’t wake me up without help from someone who tickled  my left foot.

So I got up. Took a fast shower and headed to the dining room for breakfast. I knew I’m already late for my day’s work.

While having my fairly cooked steamed rice and a pair of fried fish, she keep on asking me, “does it taste good?”.  Of course, I said.

As I was enjoying every spoonful of it,  she asked me again, “may I have some?”.     Later dear, I responded.

Promise you will left something for me, she added, while embracing me.

Hmmm…she’s  using her charm to tease me. I always like it every time she act so sweet.

So after few  minutes.

I told her, “your turn, come”.

In excitement she jumped to the top of my chair.

Then…

meow

Oh sorry, precious one. I’m too hungry to forget you. 😀

Maybe later, dear.
